MTE Relay Server Trial Build
The MTE Relay Server Trial Build is available for local development and evaluation. It looks and behaves exactly like the licensed product, but the underlying MTE library is a trial build that provides no real encryption. Traffic appears encoded on the wire, yet it offers no security guarantees and should never be used in production.
Trial components only pair with other trial components. A trial client cannot pair with a licensed relay server, and a licensed client cannot pair with a trial relay server.
Prerequisites
Download and Load the Server Image
The trial server is distributed as a Docker image archive hosted on this site. Download it, then load it into your local Docker environment:
- bash/sh/zsh
- PowerShell
curl -fLO https://relay.eclypses.com/downloads/mte-relay-server-trial-4.8.0.tar.gz
docker load -i mte-relay-server-trial-4.8.0.tar.gz
curl.exe -fLO https://relay.eclypses.com/downloads/mte-relay-server-trial-4.8.0.tar.gz
docker load -i mte-relay-server-trial-4.8.0.tar.gz
Docker prints Loaded image: mte-relay-server-trial:4.8.0 when the image is ready.
Docker CLI Command
Run the command below to start the container.
- bash/sh/zsh
- PowerShell
docker run --rm \
-p 8080:8080 \
-e CORS_ORIGINS=http://localhost:3000 \
-e UPSTREAM=http://host.docker.internal:3000 \
-e CLIENT_ID_SECRET=qshC-dHEf!8yxne6b3SKVaXLDNA7pmvYkPzMJW42UjgFu59GZw \
mte-relay-server-trial:4.8.0
docker run --rm `
-p 8080:8080 `
-e CORS_ORIGINS=http://localhost:3000 `
-e UPSTREAM=http://host.docker.internal:3000 `
-e CLIENT_ID_SECRET=qshC-dHEf!8yxne6b3SKVaXLDNA7pmvYkPzMJW42UjgFu59GZw `
mte-relay-server-trial:4.8.0
No license configuration is required; the trial image accepts any license values. You may review the environment variable configurations here.
Going Beyond the Quick Start
Once the image is loaded into your Docker environment, the trial server installs, configures, and runs exactly like the licensed product. Follow the on premises installation guide, substituting the image you downloaded from this page (mte-relay-server-trial:4.8.0) wherever the guide references the licensed image.
Client Side Library
Web Implementation
The trial web client is a single self contained npm package that bundles the trial MTE WASM library. It is intentionally not listed on the npm registry; install it directly from this site:
npm install https://relay.eclypses.com/downloads/mte-relay-browser-trial-4.4.2.tgz
Then import mteFetch and use it exactly as described in the web client instructions:
import { mteFetch } from "mte-relay-browser-trial";
const response = await mteFetch("http://localhost:8080/api/data");
The trial client prints a warning in the browser console at startup as a reminder that it provides no security.
Aside from the install source and the package name, the trial client is used exactly like the licensed client. Everything in the web client documentation applies unchanged; there is no separate installation process for the trial.
